Good friend Ben Desrosiers was rounding out his website for Gaia Wild Adventures, an awesome guiding company he's been building up, and needed a new headshot. We spent a day in Burgoyne Bay, walking under the weight of the mist, exploring boulder fields below Gary Oak meadows and discovering the largest Arbutus tree I've ever seen. We ended up walking for several more hours than intended, returning to our vehicles under the cover of dark from directions unanticipated, with the silhouettes of two Great Horned Owls arcing overhead through outlines of old growth Douglas Fir trunks and whirls of moisture laden air --their voices following our footsteps.
