Keegan grew up on Salt Spring Island in the Gulf Islands of coastal British Columbia, Canada. His interest in photography is perhaps a result of his inherited sentimentality for the past and he often lets his mind wander through old black and white photographs. It is the timeless nature of these older images that inspires his work and helped to create his own personal mantra, simply, make badass photographs for other peoples future grandkids.
Keegan's favourite place to spend time with a camera is outside. However, the allure of the environment is only surpassed by an appreciation for humanity - a look into Ansel Adams, Sebastião Salgado and Dorothea Lange might illustrate the contrasts in his photographic inspirations.
Keegan can now be found at home on Salt Spring Island, out in the mountains, at sea or sharing a laugh in the studio.
